i was at game 1 of this finals -- my first finals game. i also saw game 5 against philly in '74 ( 5-1 win. it was so loud that my brother couldn't hear me screaming into his ear. ) my last finals game was in '78 when stan jonathan beat the crap out of pierre bouchard for calling him a racist name and schmautz scored in OT against dryden, right in front of me.

About 25 years after this I played with Rod Gilbert in a great celebrity golf tournament and our group took first place. I’ll never forget that for the photograph we all held our drivers like hockey sticks. The man could tell dirty jokes like a Gatling Gun. RIP Mr. Hockey!

I remember watching Hockey Night in Canada on CBC as a toddler with my dad when it was on black and white television. With knobs. It was my job during intermissions to get up and change the channel and get him a beer from the fridge. Saturday night hockey was our thing. We were a team. I remember Jacques Plant introducing the first goalie mask. Players played without helmets and smoked cigarettes on the bench back then. I love hockey. Thanks dad.

For some reason this footage really captures the hustle and fast action of the era unlike most old footages that seem to show 1970s hockey as slow.

This is when I was big time into hockey. The only thing that seemed important in life was hockey. On the NW side of Chicago. The best memories I have were playing goal on the ice. Street Hockey too.

J'ai eu la chance de voir ce film au cinéma à sa sortie. Il faut se mettre dans le contexte de l'époque où les médias avait un langage à la Radio-Canada. Peut-être un des premier film à parler le québécois de la rue.

I remember that year that was such a great era for the Bruins.i got my first hockey skates in 68 and went to the frog pond to try them out in love ever since but Can somebody please send this video to the Boston Bruins 2024 club after yesterday's game against the capitals? LOL and Calgary feels like something is missing from this team even as good as they are,we don't want a repete of last year.. I think they need to make a move, just my opinion.

One more ( true story) when moving to Florida I threw Orr next door name drop and people would say Who the hell is Bobby Orr? I’d reply “ Just the greatest hockey player that ever played!” ( Only Canadians laugh at this next response) They look at each other puzzled and back to me and say “ Oh! When we visited Canada we thought Tim Horton was??!

My Uncle was Mayor of Parry Sound in Bobby heyday I grew up there and moved to USA .Ive had to quit watching Pro Sports due to disappointment+lack of inspiration they now display .Bobby Orr is what pro Sports should have embellished , what we want ourselves and children to learn about competition and how it transfers to our contribution to life community and strong character Bobby Orr set an example all sports should demand from they’re participant’s Thank you Mr Orr!
